Montrose Angler’s offers Guided Fly Fishing Float Trips on multiple different stretches of the Gunnison River. The Upper Gunnison, Jet Boat trip (Smith Fork to Pleasure Park), as well the Lower Gunnison (Pleasure Park down). By guiding on multiple different stretches, this allows our guides to go where the fishing is best and to place clients in the best possible opportunity for the day. We believe a Float Trip should be a good mix of excitement & relaxation while always being tailored to your requests. Float Trips on the Gunnison River are priced for two anglers. 

We also offer Guided Fly Fishing Float & Wade Trips on the Uncompahgre River through Montrose for 1 person. The Uncompahgre Float trip is a fast paced trip as you float down the high water of the Uncompahgre River. The Uncompahgre Float Trip is best for anglers who are more experienced in fly fishing and are looking for a unique trip. Often on this trip we use the boat as a source of transportation to access water you can’t reach on foot, while also pulling over to fish prime spots. 

All Float Trips include a clean comfortable drift boat or fishing raft, experienced fly fishing guide, and all the necessary equipment to be successful for the day. Full-day trips include a fresh lunch. Our Half-day float trips are about 3-4 hours long while our full-day trips provide you with more than 7 hours of time on the water.

Guided trips do not include your Colorado fishing license or guide gratuity. All clients and participants over the age of 16 are required to carry a valid Colorado fishing license with them at all times while fishing.
