We would like to announce our hosted destination trip program led by host Al Ritt. Last year Al hosted trips to Pyramid Lake in Nevada and private water trips in southeast Wyoming. These trips are organized and hosted by Al Ritt. Help with gear advise, flies and travel arrangements will be provided by your host, Al. Casting lesson and fly tying sessions are also a possibility. Al is a part time employee of the shop and has been hosting destination trips for about 20 years. Past adventures have included Mexico (Ascension Bay flats fishing), Belize (Ambergris Caye flats fishing), British Columbia (Dean River steelhead), Quebec (Atlantic salmon), southeast Wyoming (multiple varieties of trout), Oregon (Deschutes River steelhead), Florida (Everglades tarpon) and Alaska (Susitna River drainage silver salmon, rainbow trout and grayling - Kenai Peninsula steelhead, silver salmon, dolly varden and Naknek River 5 species of salmon, rainbows, grayling, dolly varden and northern pike). Al has arranged the following three trips for 2026 and is currently taking reservations.
- Pyramid Lake - Lahontan cutthroat trout. This trip is in late February outside Reno, Nevada and you will target a unique train of enormous cutthroat trout (10 pound fish are not uncommon and in 2025 2 fish over 20 pounds were landed by Al's group). Trip includes 3 fishing days and is a great destination if you want to experience more of what Reno has to offer or want to travel with a non-fishing partner.

- Horse Creek Ranch - SE Wyoming private water with rainbow, cutthroat, cut-bow, brown, brook and tiger trout. This is traditionally a trip that is very popular and fills very quickly. Unfortunately it is currently full for 2026, but we will take names for a cancellation list.

- Deschutes River - Steelhead. This is a 3 day float and camp trip on a very difficult to access stretch of a legendary western river. Lots of great scenery, wildlife and very little company on the river. There is also a very healthy bonus population of robust, hard-fighting redband rainbow trout.
