The Lake Fork of the Gunnison is a pristine freestone river that runs through the town of Lake City, CO and the Curecanti National Recreation Area until it finally flows into Blue Mesa Reservoir. This river provides ample oppurtunities to catch wild trout in some of the most scenic areas in the region.

The Lake Fork of the Gunnison River has begun to fish really well as flows have stabilized. This is the time to fish the Lake Fork! Lots of Caddis hatching in the mornings and evenings resulting in some entertaining dry fly fishing. When the hatch slows down moving over to a dry dropper rig has been crushing them! Fishing a Chubby with heavy droppers in the fast water has been effective and producing nice fish!
